ILLY

Illy Caffè is an Italian brand renowned all over the world as a specialist of the authentic Italian espresso coffee. Francesco Illy, a Hungarian citizen coming from Rumania, founded Illy Coffee in Trieste in 1933. He moved to Trieste after World War I and there he started working in the coffee sector, opening his own company and patenting Illetta, the first automatic coffee machine, and the new packaging system for preserving coffee with inert gases instead of air pressurization. Illy’s descendants continued Francesco’s dream: to join experience, taste, science and art in the production of coffee. This is the reason why Illy is involved in the creation of modern and advanced espresso machines, which join an incomparable efficiency with a captivating design; used in houses, hotels and restaurants all around the world, Illy coffee espresso machines are nice, efficient and simple to use. The new collection is born from the collaboration with the brand FrancisFrancis, founded by the nephew Francesco Illy in 1994 and since then manufacturer of high quality espresso machines. Illy Caffè is very active in several sectors, from art to technological innovation. It is official partner of EXPO 2015 in Milan and it will take care of the Cluster Caffè, a big pavilion entitled “From earth to cup”: most part of coffee-producing countries such as Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Uganda, Yemen and Ecuador.
